LED Pixel Jacket

During my 2018 Fall Semester at The University of Virginia, I was enrolled in a class titled, "Advanced Lighting Technology". The Project you see above and to the left is an accumulation of different topics we discussed over the semester.

The jacket is lined with a string of WS2811 LED Tape. In one of the inner pockets are 8 AA Batteries providing 12volts to a QolorFLEX® SHoW DMX Neo® 2x5A Dimmer, a DMX-SPI Signal Decoder, and the LED Tape. The QolorFLEX® Dimmer is being used to output DMX to the DMX-SPI Signal Decoder, which is transmitting it to the WS2811 LED Tape.

The other part of the equation is the design itself. The lights were programmed and timecoded on an EOS Nomad, and talking to QLab over internal USB Midi on my laptop, allowing the lights to stay in time with the music.
